Our creative workshop day, CREATE returns to the Enterprise this March! If you want to learn a new craft and take something home handmade by you, then we have some great workshops lined up!
 

1. Polymer Clay Earrings

with Ellevera Clay Co.
10-12pm or 1-3pm

Create beautiful pairs of earrings, using an array of polymer clay in different variations. Learn colour mixing, marble effects and clay conditioning and be able to take home you’re very own earrings.

£25 to include tuition/all materials.

2. Introduction to Glass Fusing

with Melissa Conibear
10-12 or 1-3pm

This workshop includes an overview of how glass fusing works, selecting the glass for your design and letting your creativity take over to create your own stunning tealight and glass coaster.

£30 to include tuition/ all materials

Items need to be placed in the kiln and can be collected the following week or posted for an additional charge.

3. Needle Felting

with Valerie Evans
10.00am – 12.30pm   

Create an adorable miniature Gold Teddy Bear.  Using Corriedale wool and felting needles you will learn how to sculpt wool to form your Bear and how to add his facial features. On completion, your Bear will fit into a wooden box so that he can be packaged as a gift with an Adoption Certificate. Suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.

4. STITCH & PAPER ART

with Liz Padgham-Major
10-12pm

Create a colourful and unique artwork in this creative workshop where you will learn how to combine specially treated paper with hand embroidery. Ideal for a scrapbook enthusiastic or textile lover. You will choose from lots of printed papers to create your design and learn three embroidery stitches to create a Botanical themed art work for your home.

Suitable for all abilities.

5. Weaving on Shells

with Claire Buckley
Time 10.00 – 12.00 (Lunch) 1.00 – 3.00

Collaborations with Nature – Scallop Shell Weaving with Claire Buckley
Learn to weave on Sussex scallop shells using a selection of materials including waste plastics and sea glass collected on local beaches.
We will also look at the symbolic use of shells in art and decoration.
At the end of the day you should have a finished weaving ready to display.
There are limited places available to give lots of help to everyone.

6. Weaving with beloved fabrics.

With Theresa Sundt
10-12pm & 1-3pm

Learn how to weave from scratch using old beloved fabrics or clothes that you cannot part with.
Fabric will be cut into yarn size lengths to weave with on a frame loom.
Everybody is born with the art of weaving naturally engrained in our DNA! All tools and materials provided; bring your own fabrics for a more personal expression if you wish. You will create a piece of woven fabric ready to be transformed into a little bag or a cushion cover.

Warning: weaving can be addictive!

7. Make your own Macrame Plant Hanger

Learn Macrame techniques including knots and take home your very own fabulous plant holder.

8. Painting Spring Flowers in Watercolour

Enjoy working with watercolours to paint Spring Flowers from life.

9. Mixed Media Coneflower

with Floss Nicholls
10-12.30pm 

Experience using different mediums in one piece to create a mixed media coneflower. 

Break the white space with collage, texture the surface with gesso and use water colours, collage and stitching to bring details into your art.  No experience necessary. Please bring an apron, all techniques demonstrated.

Fibre Fest – All Things Textile returns to the Enterprise on the 1st June 2024. If you’re interested in spinning, weaving, felting, textile art, knitting, and more, this is the place to be!

With suppliers, makers, demos & workshops, it will be a celebration of all things textile.
