About

Our History

Originally a Victorian engine shed, the Enterprise was purchased in 1980 when works began to add a mezzanine floor to develop the shopping centre. The centre was opened in 1981, with 68 small retail units.

Today the centre is home to over 30 independent stores, eateries and services.

Community and Charity work

The Enterprise Centre is proud to support many local charities, including St Wilfrid’s Hospice and The Chaseley Trust.

The Printworks

The Printworks was once the home of Beckett Newspapers and its massive printing presses. It consists of a number of stylish, airy buildings between Commercial Rd and Wharf Rd, Eastbourne.  Both the Wharf Road offices and The Printworks occupy an ideal position adjacent to the British Rail car park and of course Eastbourne Station itself with its rapid connections to Gatwick and London.
