Personalised Embroidery Art
With Liz Padgham-Major
10-1pm (small break included)

Create a hand stitched personalised art work with a letter of your choice. Using the amazing technique of negative space embroidery you will learn 4 stitch techniques and then add these to create your own unique art work. Spend the morning in a relaxed and calm atmosphere in a small group.
Suitable for all abilities.

Needle Felting
With Valerie Evans
10.00 – 13.00pm (short break included)

Maestro Mouse is needle felted using British Southdown wool.  He stands approximately 15cm tall and on completion he is ready to audition at Glyndebourne! Needle felting is considered to be a relaxing pastime and popular hobby. You will use a wire armature for his frame and build his body using barbed felting needles to sculpt the wool.  All the materials are included in the fee.

Sashiko and Boro Stitching Workshop

Learn the Japanese art of Sashiko stitching and the Boro technique of adding patches to mend garments. You will be shown how to use these techniques using fabric scraps to create your own Boro patchwork. Suitable for all levels of sewing ability.

Introduction to glass fusing

This workshop includes an overview of how glass fusing works, selecting your glass for your design and lets your creativity take over to create your own stunning tealight and glass coaster.

Polymer Clay Earrings

Create beautiful jewellery using an array of polymer clay in different variations. Learn colour mixing, marble effects and clay conditioning and make up to three pieces of jewellery i.e earrings, necklace pendants or broaches, whatever you would like! Suitable for any skill levels.

FLOWER DYE A SILK SCARF

Unlock the wonders of naturally extracting colour from flowers and plants, by creating a beautiful and unique 100% silk scarf. During the workshop you will learn how to prepare fabric so that the natural dyes are long lasting and colourfast; have access to an array of different flowers and natural sources for dyeing; and have the opportunity to experiment before creating your silk scarf. Small group learning for a better experience.

Weave a Fantasy Figure

Learn how to use off loom weaving techniques to create a unique fantasy figure of your choice, maybe a fairy, mermaid or witch. The figure can be hung as a decoration or worn as a brooch and is a perfect present.

 In this two hour workshop you will learn the basics, from brushes to application. We will be working with watercolour and gouache paints.

Silver Ring Making
With The Goldsmith’s Workshop
10-12am and 1-3pm

Learn how to make one or two simple silver rings using basic silversmithing techniques. This course is aimed at absolute beginners but is open to any standard. We will learn soldering, stamping, texturing, melting, oxidising and polishing. Take home some lovely jewellery!  There are two places available in each time-slot so bring a friend. There are limited places available to give lots of help to everyone.
